Laura Doerflinger Family Counseling

Biography

Laura Doerflinger, MS, LMHC has worked as a mental health therapist since 1993. Ms. Doerflinger began her career counseling children, adults, and families in their homes. Contracting with the state, Ms. Doerflinger served people in crisis helping them find long-term solutions to challenging individual and group dynamics. Ten years later Ms. Doerflinger decided to bring her decade of experience counseling to the Kirkland community and opened her private counseling office. At the same time she started The Parent Education Group, an organization founded to bring relevant parent education to local schools and organizations. Ms. Doerflinger has a passion for helping adults and children learn to find emotional balance and develop a respectful individual and family experience.

Ms. Doerflinger works with children, teens, and adults. She believes that all stages of our lives are interconnected, and so she counsels clients of any age. She says, "I like working with all ages because when I work with a child I understand their development not only at their current stage but also the stages that they will experience in the future. When I work with adults on historical issues, I have current, hands on experience with clients at the age with which they might be struggling. It's a gift to work with the whole age range."

Contact and Appointments: When you contact Ms. Doerflinger, please include your request for services, a brief summary of needs, schedule availability, and contact information. The best way to contact Ms. Doerflinger is to email her at laura@parenteducationgroup.com . She is often in session during the day and unable to take calls; you are welcome to leave a message at 206-300-2550 and she will return your call within 48 hours. Because she can check emails between sessions, she can respond to e-mails more quickly. Once you agree to a session time, that time is exclusively reserved for you or your child. Ms. Doerflinger has a 48 hours cancellation policy so she can fill your time slot.

Payment and insurance: Ms. Doerflinger's clients pay her at appointment time with checks, Visa, MasterCard, or American Express. Clients are asked to contact their insurance company for coverage. Receipts with all the necessary information including diagnosis and procedural codes are supplied.
